A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) contraindication is a condition or factor that serves as a reason to withhold performing the procedure.

Below is a list of MRI Contraindications that may make participants ineligible for the Alliance study:

  • Claustrophobia
  • Pregnant/possibly pregnant/breast-feeding
  • Pacemaker/defibrillator
  • Brain aneurysm clip
  • Neurostimulator or infusion pump
  • Shrapnel/bullets/metallic foreign body in eye or body
  • Cardiac stent
