The ultimate goal for the Alliance is to be a tool for Canadian health research. This resource will be available to researchers for all types of health-related research that is in the public interest, without preferential or exclusive access for any person. All researchers, whether in universities, charities, government agencies or commercial companies, and whether based in Canada or abroad, are subject to the same application process and approval criteria.
The Alliance is a unique project because it will add the collected information to existing cohort databases, of the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project cohorts (BC Generations, Alberta Tomorrow Project, Ontario Health Study, CARTaGENE, Atlantic PATH), the PURE Study, and the Montreal Heart Institute Biobank. This will create an even richer resource of health information within these cohort projects.
From 2014-2017, during recruitment and data collection, the Alliance data will not be available to researchers. Please check back shortly for timelines on when data will be available.
If you are interested in the data collected by the Alliance, we will be setting up a page for scientists to register as an interested scientist . In the near future, we will provide information about the data held within this resource which will allow researchers to decide whether or not they wish to use it.
